Allowed Sound Studio has been in business on Salt Spring Island, BC, since 1999, and provides focused, nuanced audio by critically acclaimed producer/musician Andy Meyers. Andy began producing audio in 1977 when he co-founded legendary art rock band The Scenics. (“New York had the Talking Heads, but here was their equal in Toronto” Bob Mersereau, author of “The Top 100 Canadian Albums”).
Andy Meyers has recorded and produced rootsy singer songwriters, guitar driven rock and roll, reggae/dub bands, string quartets, jazz combos, and experimental collaborations and soundscapes. He's passionate about a wide range of music and his deep listening and playing history supports the choices he brings to your music.
Andy is fluent on guitar, bass, keyboards, and harmony vocals, and is an encouraging and supportive producer. He is a savvy and skilled arranger and would enjoy working with you to help your songs reach their full potential.
Andy utilizes this seasoned, confident musicality to create mixes that breathe and have great depth-- powerful mixes that support the story your music is telling.
